G. Michael Stewart

Attorney G. Michael Stewart is a member of our benzene litigation team. Before joining SimmonsCooper, Mike was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1988. While in the Marine Corps, Mike worked in communications and received the Good Conduct Medal and a Certificate of Commendation. Mike was honored with a Meritorious Mast Award on three separate occasions.

In 1995 Mike earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, with a Health Law Certificate. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science.

Mike worked as an assistant state's attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney Office from 1995 to 1998 and then became an associate attorney for Rekowski & Associates. He also worked as an attorney for Madison County Public Defender from 1999 to 2004.

In addition to his responsibilities at SimmonsCooper, Mike also works for the Madison County State's Attorney's Office as assistant state's attorney in the felony division.
