Shelby C. Reed

Attorney Shelby Reed dedicates his practice to representing victims of mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Economics and his Juris Doctorate with magna cum laude and cum laude honors, respectively. 

Before joining SimmonsCooper LLC, Shelby practiced public school law and governmental law and represented some of the fastest growing school districts in the State of Texas and in the United States.

• Co-authored appellate brief to Texas Court of Appeals, co-authored opposition to petition for review to the Texas Supreme Court and successfully represented Denton Central Appraisal District in the case of Denton Central Appraisal Dist. v. CIT Leasing Corp., 115 S.W.3d 261 (Tex.App.-Fort Worth Aug 25, 2003) (NO. 2-02-404-CV), review denied (Jan 16, 2004), rehearing of petition for review denied (Mar 26, 2004), certiorari denied by CIT Leasing Corp. v. • Co-authored brief to Texas Court of Appeals, co-authored opposition to writ of error to the Texas Supreme Court and successfully represented DeSoto ISD in Wright Commercial Contracting, Inc. v. DeSoto Independent School Dist., 2000 WL 378523 (Tex.App.-Dallas Mar 31, 2000) (NO. 05-98-00196-CV), review denied (Dec 07, 2000).
